Twas the Night of Homecoming (Part Two: The Game)

Halftime ended and the game continued to pursue
The mean green continued to be through and through
They fought a hard fight and stuck it out till the end
But unfortunately came up short and did not win

The crowd drew silent and still
In everyone’s eyes the tears did fill
We put our eagle claws in the air
And sung our alma mater with love and care

But despite the painful loss that came
Homecoming is not about a game
Homecoming is about meeting friends both old and new
That have come back to see UNT and you

For the friends you make in college you never forget
The past experiences you shall never omit
And though everyone moves away
You always come back for homecoming day

And so as I sit at this bonfire a year later
Growing wiser and ever greater
Realizing how time has come to past
Knowing college is never going to last

And like my friends of old and new
There will be a time when I must also bid UNT an adieu
The End
Fight the Good Fight
Ya Boy Archie Wright!
