Taking Away the Stress with Eagle’s Refuge and the Insomnia

It’s approaching end of the semester and the student activities center is offering a little R&R before the great storm also known as FINALS arrives next week.  The student activities center at Discovery Park was offering free massages to students and was also giving out free healthy snacks like fruits, granola bars, and Caprisun fruit drinks. Besides the Eagle’s Refuge that was going on this week, the student activities center is continually making the Discovery Park campus feel more like the UNT campus in the activities that are done in trying to keep students calm, busy, and relaxed while taking a break from schoolwork.
The main campus will also be putting on a similar program on a bigger scale since a lot more students are on the main campus called Eagle Insomnia.  The different activities will range from an oxygen bar, an air brush tattoo station, food and drinks, music, games, and much more!
Despite it being close to finals its good to see UNT making an effort to keep students relaxed at this stressful time.  Finals can be a stressful time for many students since the percentage of the grade that goes towards a final exam is usually large and could drastically affect the students’ grades.  The stress to do well on a test can be overbearing on a student and could possibly cause them to do worse on a final.  That’s why in this time of stress it is good see the university trying to keep students relaxed.  I know that the best way for me to think is when I am in a relaxed state of mind and both the Eagle’s Refuge and Eagle Insomnia helping me stay relaxed.
In regards to finals, relax everyone.  As long as you do what you’re supposed to do and study, everything will be ok. Also be careful with all-nighters.  Back in my freshman year my friend and I were in the same Calculus class.  He pulled an all-nighter the day before the test and showed up almost 1 ½ hours late.  Luckily for him he knew the material and was able to finish the test.

Good luck on finals!
